Coco Gordon just ended her 3 month solo show, "Zeroing in Expanding out: Fluxus
Delivery", at the Lyons Regional library 2023. She answers to “”Coco Go aka
SuperSkyWoman”. She came to the Lyons front range, Colorado in 2006 from Tribeca
NYC, and is recognized globally (11 Biennales). Coco was dubbed “Coco-Camille" by
Dick Higgins for her Intermedia contributions to the Fluxus performative, erasing of
boundaries movement between art and Life.
Her recent paintings and artist books are now “Snacks in and from Space”, bringing old
and present cultures together, All Aboard, on flying vehicles, musing further by words
carefully chosen to draw you into her space-stop predicaments, a continuation from
earlier 50’s and 60’s more scientific encyclopedic space travel and aboriginal dreamtime
circle 90’s painting expeditions. She has experienced and performed her ecological and
societally concerned art from many time-based beginnings of the earth to now
multiverse scenarios. She practices and has taught the Permaculture PDC in her daily
life, and No gene-spliced square tomatoes, please - becomes her music to learn from
in this show.
Henry Martin wrote ("Acts of Faith” Il Sogno del Tempo), Coco Deals with her
experience as though it were a constant adventure, and her work is as though a running
commentary on that adventure, shaping itself into a parallel adventure, no less profuse,
no less fragile, no less infused with a sense of speed, and equally mysterious, aspiring
to a similar amazement”.
As a longtime friend of Ray Johnson, she had a part in the movie, “How to Draw a
Bunny”
