J Cirro Thomas (b. 1981) is an artist and poet living in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Statement

My work explores cultural and religious symbols and signs from antiquity that resonate with my own inner states. I attempt to plummet the depths of meaning, often beyond language, of the poetic elements expressed through humanity across all times and cultures. Looking beyond the ethnic limitations of these traditions, though unique and beautiful, I search for the common signal from which all human aspirations draw from. Much of my work draws from my own personal life experiences placed into the mythic context of the human struggle for transcendence.
