Vittore Baroni (Forte dei Marmi, 1956) is an Italian music critic and explorer of the
counter-cultures. Since the mid-1970’s he is also one of the most active promoters of
the planetary circuit of mail art. He has written or edited various books on aspects of the
“networking cultures” that anticipated Internet, including the mail art guide Arte Postale -
Guida al network della corrispondenza creativa (AAA Edizioni, 1997). He has organized
many exhibitions, events, publications and collective projects in the fields of mail art,
audio art, visual poetry, underground comics and street art.

"The internationally known visual poet Lamberto Pignotti was one of my teachers at the
DAMS University in Bologna, and I had the chance to meet and collaborate with other
prime-movers of the experimental poetry community, but I always felt part of a younger
"intermedia" generation. Hence, my interpretation of the verbo-visual expression has
always been a bit playful and tongue-in-cheek, making fun of certain clichés of visual
poetry, concrete poetry and asemic writing." Vittore Baroni,
