Kjell Varvin attended the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Crafts and

Industries in Oslo and then continued his studies at the École nationale

supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris, the Academia Bellas Artes de Sevilla,

the Academia Bellas in Porto and the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de

Barcelona. This was followed by study trips through Europe, North Africa,

Central and North America and Asia. The versatile artist has participated in

numerous exhibitions, including at the Northern Norway Art Museum, the

Vigeland Museum and national biennials. He is married to the German

painter Susanne Kathlen Mader.
